Mixed Signals from the Minnesota Market

by Caleb Carlson

As we wrap up June and the second quarter of the year, one trend continues to stand out: Minnesota is still experiencing two very different housing markets.

Entry-level homes and higher-end properties continue to see strong competition, while many mid-priced homes, especially in the second and third-ring suburbs, are taking longer to sell. In this segment of the market, pricing and presentation matter more than ever. Sellers often need to be patient as smaller buyer pools mean longer days on market.

Looking ahead, much will depend on the broader economy. As long as conflict in the Middle East continues to put pressure on inflation, gas prices, and interest rates, affordability will remain a challenge for many middle-class buyers.

Even so, more homeowners are deciding it's time to move despite holding historically low mortgage rates. Life changes don't always wait for the perfect interest rate. If you're wondering what your home is worth or thinking about buying, selling, or investing, I'm always happy to help. Thank you for choosing me to be YOUR Realtor.
