Minnesota Housing Market Update: A Tale of Two Markets
If there’s one takeaway from May, it’s that Minnesota real estate feels like two completely different markets.
Homes in top school districts that are updated, clean, and priced correctly continue to see strong demand. Multiple offers are still common, and buyers are often competing against cash offers and waived inspections. At the same time, other homes are sitting longer, seeing fewer showings, and requiring price reductions to attract interest.
I've had buyers lose in bidding wars with 10+ offers, while others have successfully negotiated below asking price and received seller concessions. The difference often comes down to location, condition, pricing, and strategy. In a market that can change dramatically from one neighborhood to the next, preparation matters. Strong communication, the right financing, and understanding which terms can be negotiated are more important than ever.
Whether you're buying, selling, or just keeping an eye on the market, knowing which market you're in can make all the difference.
